Laura Gray is an Irish artist based in London. She studied printed textile design at Ulster University before shifting her focus to painting.

Grays’ paintings capture the nostalgia of the rural palette of her childhood growing up in the Irish countryside. Her work combines gentle hues dominated by deeper tones and intricacies of colour to turn otherwise subconscious thoughts and emotions into something tangible. She does not plan each work but instead allows the struggle and perpetual tension between accident and control to create something unexpected and organic.

Each piece is primarily created using acrylics, pigments and dyes, with the use of found tools and brushes to add intricate detailing and scoring.

Her work has been acquired publicly for the Civil Service Art Collection of Northern Ireland and for private collections in the UK, Ireland and internationally.
